Post Brake/rotor replacement on a tight budget. Ideas?
My brake and rotors are in bad shape, need replacing. I also got my last check from work.

What brake/rotor combo would you all suggest for a budget?

I don't think so. It's rotating with a cutting tip pressed on it. Won't work with slots and holes.

Just resurfaced my slotted drilled rotors but I have the equipment for the job already :-\. Just take them to a place that knows how to so you don't end up with a burr on the slot that as a result destroys your nice new pads. Some shops wont do it because it wears out the cutter but who cares :-\, just find a competent shop, get a quote, if quote<new rotors and you don't have runout do it.

Mine are already old, I got them resurfaced last time and when I did I was told I'd have to replace them next time.

How hard do you drive your car?

Do you spend a lot of time on mountain roads or just cruising around town?

Probably don't have anything left to scrape off then, so yeah, you can't turn them but apparently you already knew that.

Just get some blanks and some average pads. Higher end stuff that can handle more heat and stress will more than double your costs, and are totally unnecessary for your driving style.

Autozone quoted me $32 each rotor lifetime warranty $45 for ceramic pads also lifetime. Thats cheaper than they have them listed online. I ask the guy to double and he said that right

Ebay is fine if your driving like a grandma. Anyways, if your on a budget stay stock, that is the best money saving path.

Do you have any brake pedal pulsation at all? If not and you're looking for a cheap repair to get you buy another several thousand miles- just do a pad slap onto the rotors you have now. Its not absolutely necessary to resurface the rotors each time you replace the pads (though it would be best). If your rotors are still true (no brake pedal pulsation), just throwing on a set of pads would just run you the cost of the pads and 15 minutes of your own manual labor.

+1

Also, if you don't like to clean brake dust off of your wheels all the time get ceramic not organic pads if it's in your budget.

I got my R1 Concepts off ebay with some raybestos ceramic pads and have absolutely no problems so far. You can get brembo blanks on there for pretty cheap dude. The only reason I wouldn't trust ebay is cause I was told a story at my school that someone got rotors that weren't the right specs for their car. Other than that, no problems. And blanks are definitely cheaper.

And even then just RMA, that's the power of PayPal.

^That be true^... Paypal seemed a little late with my first report, but they haven't failed me yet.

PayPal sucks as the seller, but wins for the buyer.
